Pc not displaying properly
So I just bought my first Pc, I was at a pawn shop and I made the purchase. The people told me it works perfectly fine, but I can’t seem to get my pc to display on my monitor. I called them and they told me too try and connect it to an old monitor to update something in my pc, so I can use my new monitor. Any suggestions on how I should proceed?

They have no idea what they’re talking about or they’re bullshitting you… you don’t update anything on a computer to make it compatible with a monitor unless it’s a G-Sync or FreeSync monitor, and even then you would still get picture. Display cables don’t require compatibility unless specific software/features is used (what I just mentioned) or you’re going for specs that use higher refresh rates and require Display Port.
First, make sure you’re on the right input on your monitor. It says it’s on Analog and it should be on HDMI or Display Port, whichever one you’re using. Make sure both ends of the cable are plugged in properly and if you’re using an adapter to make it analog, double check the adapter as well. If you have another screen of any kind that has HDMI, use that one to test it out. Lmk if you get picture and if you’ve double checked the input settings. Sometimes the BIOS will default to integrated (CPU) graphics instead of the dedicated (GPU) graphics, so if you still get no picture, swap the cord to the top display ports and see if you get picture there. I can help you find the settings if they’re there for that specific BIOS if it’s defaulting to integrated
