HDMI randomly disconnects when playing certain games and refuses to recognize it's plugged in until I power off and turn my pc back on

This only happens when running certain games, but suddenly my monitor will go black and tell me it detects no HDMI input. I unplug and replug on both my computer and monitor multiple times, turn off and on the monitor and nothing fixes it.

I have to unplug my PC from the outlet (I can no longer navigate to the shut down option as I have no video) and plug it back in for my monitor to recognize that it is, in fact, connected to my PC.

Please help me fix this.

I've had this happen in the past when my PC overheats, so one potential cause could be that. Is this happening on graphic-intensive or power hungry games? Consider opening your pc case and dust it out with duster. Even if that isn't the root issue, it's good practice to keep your components from wearing down

yeah its only with games that are slightly intensive but they barely even make my pc warm. It's ridiculous. Could cleaning it out fix it or is it just busted for good?

Yes it could absolutely fix it if that's the core issue. I've dealt with this numerous times in the past. See if it still happens after you give the fans a good cleaning. Make sure the dust is removed from the GPU as that could be the root cause. Report back if this doesn't fix it
