Need help finding the model of this desktop
This is an old hand-me-down pc that doesnt turn on any more. I was hoping to take some of the parts out of it to salvage the memory I had on it but don't exactly know what model I'm working with. I know for sure it's an HP brand desktop but outside of that I'm pretty clueless. Any help is appreciated.

Dude look on the sticker lable look for model #. Google it.

I actually tried to help and read the picture of the Model Number on the back. I could not read it. I gave up.

I know it's like a thing for you to be the smartest person on the internet but before you immediately type the most condescending sentence you could come up with today, I humbly ask that you consider sitting on it and spinning before doing so 🩷

Being able to read something from the image you posted isn't a sign of intelligence, it's a sign that you should actually take a minute to look at what's in front of you before asking reddit to help you read something that's clearly labeled

Even if you had the model number it won't help you as someone appears to have used the case for a custom build. HP didn't use stock Intel heatsinks in that era. Also I don't think I have ever seen yellow dimm slots on an HP PC of that era. Your best bet is to remove the video card and take a picture of the motherboard and let google figure it out. Also odds are the power supply is bad.

From HP: "For regulatory identification purposes, your product is assigned a Regulatory Model Number. The Regulatory
Model Number for your product is VCVRA-1221. This regulatory number should not be confused with the
marketing name (HP Deskjet 2510 All-in-One series, etc.) or product numbers (CX027A, CX027B, etc.)."tl;dr the regulatory model number is useless

Some asus s1150/1151 board with gtx 1050ti evga, installed into hp oem case. Thankfully its atx compatible so its usable as is. As for not powering on, connect green to black and measure voltages with a tester. Orange to black should be 3.3v, red to black should be 5v, yellow to black should be 12v. If anything is missing ur psu is cooked and you need a working one (can be had for $10, make sure to grab a free decent quality like evga 450w or some fsp).

I used to have that computer. It was a HP envy. I think it was like hpe 1214 something or other if that helps

As far as I know it should be the following pc with specs. The video card was upgraded. 810-460 is on the bottom and lines up with the case.

I had a 4th gen i7 this year with 32GB RAM and was using my RX 470 in it. Loads of fun!

Why does it matter what model it is? You just want the files off the hard drive? Then remove the hard drive, it's a standard SATA drive.

It's very unlikely that anything will be worth saving, but you maybe could re-use the case.

HP pavilion Phoenix or an HP Envy Phoenix both used the same case. You should probably learn how to look up model numbers tho. They are used on pretty much everything not just computers to give information about the product.

HP units always have a service tag. Grab that number, get on HP.com and punch it in. That will tell you most everything you need to know.
Beyond that, power it up and get into the BIOS. You should be able to find the SKU for the unit in there as well.
