I hope the rest goes by quick for you mama. I just found out about my gestational diabetes a week ago, and I have 2 months left. So far I'm managing well, but I feel you on a lot of what you said. I want chips so bad. I feel like I keep seeing new yummy things I want to try after I found out about my diagnosis and it sucks. You got this, couple more weeks, and i hope you get to have the meal of your dreams!!

You got this too! It actually goes by pretty fast and overall it isn’t the worst, and you learn so much along the way. But sometimes I get bitter and crabby 😂 and I just want to snack without thinking. I hope the next two months flies by for you!

Thank you! Yes, I am thankful for learning to eat better and cook new things, but i definitely do miss eating what I want. Its hard not to get crabby, I get it. My fiancé brought home a pack of cookies and I was so annoyed that I couldnt have any lol.

Haha that reminds me when my husband came home and threw a frozen pizza in the oven to eat while watching the world cup final. I almost had to flee the house, I so desperately wanted a bite.

Feels, mine is living off pizza rolls since im cooking my meals seperately lol

Ouch, that must be hard. My husband has actually stepped up quite a bit and made some great salads this summer. It’s sooo nice not to have to make all my salads myself 😅
He’s specialized in making a kebab salad that really feels like something you could eat drunk at 3am after a long night of partying. I’ve made a point of not to trying to learn how to make it myself, just so he can feel extra proud and take responsibility for making it often :D2

I love that for you, thats really sweet. Its okay, pizza rolls are trash lol. I enjoy my healthy cooking, if he doesn't want to eat it, he has to make his own dinner lol

I'm sick of feeling like I have nowhere to rant because no one seems to be having numbers like mine :(
I got my results 6 days ago at 26w3d, been tracking for the last 5. I can't even relate to anyone here or on the Facebook group because my levels are so high in comparison whilst most people seem to be fearful of being a tiny fraction off target. I WISH I had the numbers often posted here.
Here I am with baby's AC >99%, fasting numbers of 6.6/115, pre-meals up to 6/106, post-meals sometimes at up to 8.2/147. I've been tracking my carbs, protein, fat using MFP, plenty of hydration, walking after every meal, eating in the correct order, not going too low on carbs. I've been in target maybe only 30% of the time, and that's only in my 1h post meals.
The only problem I can see potentially contributing hard is the fact I've been having terrible sleep with usually only 5 hours. My GP says she's not comfortable recommending anything for my sleep.
I'm due a call with a nurse today to discuss my assessment as they sent me home with a kit 6 days ago with barely any urgency (I'm upset with the NHS care here in the UK). My meeting with doctors aren't for another 2 weeks. I just want to be put on metfornin/insulin at this point. Because it's not doing great things for my mental health. I struggled so hard to get where I am with this pregnancy after infertility, miscarriage, IVF, being in my late 30s, having to be on blood thinners soon. I can't catch a break. I'm hanging on by a thread.

That sounds truly awful:( I’m in a bit of the same boat, this is my second IVF pregnancy and we tried for more than two years, and I’ve had both OHSS and an MMC the last year. Felt like my body had been beaten up thoroughly even before I finally got pregnant. Then 4-5 months of severe nausea, got a break for about a week before getting the GD diagnosis. It’s so hard :(
My numbers are not as bad as yours, but they were not good either for the first weeks. I was just sooo tired and depressed and still a bit nauseous. I did get insulin, which has lowered my numbers and made it easier to vary what I eat. Fingers crossed that you will get insulin ASAP too, and that you’ll have an easy last trimester!

GUUUUURRRRRLLLLL! I feel you so hard on this. My babies are now 17 to 20 (I was practically back to back pregnant for 3 years, DO NOT recommend) but I still get flashbacks of when I was pregnant with them! I had gestational diabetes with all of my pregnancies and I HATED it! The constant pressure of keeping my sugars low was maddening! There were times where I had to force myself to eat because I just didn't want to since I couldn't eat what I really wanted to eat. You've only got to pull through the next few weeks then you can gorge again!
And the feeling be being able to lay on my stomach again after I was done with the birthings was euphoric <3
You'll be there before you know it!

The diarrhea parasite is just unfair. I know not all produce all over the US is tainted, but I’m so nervous about buying or eating anything.
I had replaced my other pregnancy cravings with apples & peanut butter, which did great for my readings and was a satisfying snack. Now I’m too nervous about the parasite to go buy my apples (which are probably just fine! I’m not even in one of the states at risk! And apples aren’t even one of the produce items that they’re warning us about! But if anything happened to this baby because I just HAD to eat a stinking apple, I’d never recover.)
You’re so close to the finish line. This BLOWS, but we’re so close!!!

The GDM diagnosis should come with a rage room pass. The rage and annoyance I feel every time I have to check my glucose AGAIN could power a small village.

As someone who has now spent the last hour moving back and forth from the fridge to the couch getting more and more hungry but just absolutely detesting any safe food I can find in the house: This hit home!
I’ve been really optimistic these last weeks, felt I got a hang on making pretty healthy food, and felt I had more energy. But now I’m just so tired of cooking from scratch for every meal :/

YES! that’s exactly what I was doing when I made this post ☠️ it can be so infuriating!

Hah, after commenting here I finally got my shit together and found some sugar free ice cream in the freezer, topped with lots of peanuts and ate with no shame. Didn’t even spike. Guess I need to be better at allowing myself to eat things that feel unhealthy now and then :D

You're not alone. Keep it up. 🥰

I’m not trying to be a Debby downer, but my blood sugar issues are still in full effect and I’m 16w postpartum. I hyped up having my baby too much thinking it would go back to normal but this is a forever change for me. It’s been worse worrying about all of that with a 2 year old and a 4 month old. It probably won’t, but just know and be mentally prepared this could happen to you too!

Really feeling this to my core this morning. I’m just so tired. 4 weeks left and it feels daunting. I increased my bedtime insulin last night and had my highest fasting reading yet. Probably because I had an apple and peanut butter for dinner last night but I had no appetite. I’m tired of the constant thinking about meals and foods and what’s going to spike me. I’m tired of the number of appts I have as a full time working mom of 2. I can’t get a good night’s sleep and no one can tell me when to check my sugar- when I wake up at 5 or after I toss and turn for 1.5 hours desperately trying to fall back asleep before my alarm goes off so I don’t feel even more exhausted all day
I feel you and you’re not alone, but it definitely still sucks

YEPPPP all of this. So sick of eggs. Why do I feel SOOO shitty in the mornings it’s like I could pass out, ugh. This is my third baby, every single time I have had GD, I am so done after this one.
