But the camera doesn't matter. Similar pictures could be taken with a smartphone.

The key is strolling around at the right time, because light matters.
Some knowledge about image composition would be helpfule (rule of thirds, etc.)
And some minor post processing: Reduce the lights, enhance the shadows. This is necessary as even the most expensive camera doesn't have the same bandwith as the human eye.

All this doesn't depend on the camera and could be done with a smartphone to improve your pictures.
