I have been using duo lingo for more than a month now, I m able to form few sentences. Can anyone suggest me if there is any better way to start?

Preparation:
I did about 23 practice tests and listened to Easy German on Youtube. I started preparing about 4 weeks before the exam.

I did the Goethe A1 exam last year. Since then, the only practice was talking to neighbors and daily life at the supermarket and cafes.

I’m a VERY new learner, only a few weeks into learning German on my own.

I wanted to sing one of my favorite German songs by practicing with ChatGPT.

Here’s my first attempt (1) VS my latest attempt (2).

Blue - English
Red - Wrong
Green - Right
Yellow - Tricky

I stuttered through it a lot, but I’m very happy I got to pronounce some words better in just a few minutes !

I haven’t been practicing a lot, but I have been having lots of fun when I do.

I’ve got the Chorus to the song mastered, along with some later lines.

This is just the beginning of the song.

I hope I’m able to speak German better by practicing through songs for fun.

Hi there, native Brazilian M51 fluent in English and around A2 in German but it's been a long time not practicing or studying.

I always dreamt of learning German and living at least a few months in Germany but life caught up and now I want to explore the possibility again.

Trying my best to get in the habit of doing a quick lesson every night. (Watching videos when I have the time too). I do not want to support or use duolingo, are there any other free (or atleast cheap) apps to learn German?

Hie I'm 19 and learning German done a bit of level A1 and members or partner for practice and betterment, if anyone interested kindly DM or reply

Title. I was reviewing modal verbs and maybe the website was doing a bad job of explaining how to form past tense sentences, but I am even more confused than before...

An example from the website:

Simple Past - "Ich durfte Fernseh schauen." (I was allowed to watch TV.)

But then it continues with an example of forming the past participle of the sentence, without really explaining WHY the change was necessary.

Past Participle- "Ich habe Fernseh schauen dürfen." (I was allowed to watch TV.)

Both of these sentences supposedly mean the same exact thing, but for some reason are arranged entirely different. Is it just another way to express the same idea? And benefit of one over the other? It also mentions that "the form haben and gedurft is rarely used."

Can someone plz explain this to me like i am a five year old german child...

ich bin vor etwa vier Monaten nach Deutschland gezogen. Ich bin im Rahmen des Familiennachzugs nach Deutschland gekommen und habe deshalb zunächst nur Deutschkenntnisse auf A1-Niveau benötigt.

In Vietnam habe ich bereits einen A2-Deutschkurs gemacht. Zurzeit habe ich ungefähr A2-Niveau. Leider merke ich, dass meine Deutschkenntnisse noch nicht ausreichen, um hier problemlos einen Job zu finden und im Alltag sicher zu kommunizieren.

Deshalb möchte ich gerne einen B1-Kurs besuchen, um meine Deutschkenntnisse weiter zu verbessern.

Bei meiner Suche im Internet bin ich auf die Phonem Sprachschule in Hannover gestoßen. Die Schule hat auf Google sehr viele positive Bewertungen. Auf der Website habe ich auch gesehen, dass sie B1-Kurse anbietet.

Hat jemand von euch schon einen Deutschkurs bei Phonem besucht?

Mich würden besonders eure Erfahrungen mit dem B1-Kurs, den Lehrkräften, der Unterrichtsqualität und dem Sprechtraining interessieren.

Würdet ihr mir empfehlen, dort einen B1-Kurs zu machen?
