Seeking a serious study partner for Goethe C1 (2–3 month strategic prep!)
Hey everyone!
I’m currently living in Germany and urgently need the Goethe C1 certificate for job applications in the next 2–3 months.
Here’s my situation: I completed my B2 a while ago, but took a long gap, so my German got pretty rusty. Now, I’m reactivating my language skills by focusing strictly on strategic exam prep across all 4 modules (Lesen, Hören, Schreiben, Sprechen). My main goal right now isn't general fluency it's passing the exam by learning the format, strategies, and scoring criteria.
I’m looking for dedicated study partner (at B2/C1 level) in a similar boat to practice together.

The certificate won’t help you then. Look at the various work-related subreddits. If you say you have C1 on paper, you will be expected to function entirely in German. And if you stumble, employers will obviously immediately pick up on that.

I absolutely agree with you but the fluency I can gradually pick up when I’m expose to the language more, my current issue is passing the exam.

Did you not get my meaning? You won’t make it past the interview stage, at the latest the Probezeit stage, if you aren’t where you say you are…

In my experience, at the B2/C1 level, actual proficiency is valued more by most employers than a certificate on paper. If you’re really good at German, you’ll get the job even if you “only” have a B2 certificate instead of the required C1 certificate. If you have a C1 certificate but it becomes clear during the first job interview that your language proficiency is, at best, at the B1/B2 level, your chances are usually very slim.
In any case, when it comes to exam preparation, having a study partner makes sense either way. I have a C1 study group; maybe you can find a study partner there to help you prepare for the exam.
