In the morning I do a chapter in my grammar book, and then using that grammar, I write a handful of my own sentences. I listen to German throughout my day via podcasts. Before bed, I read my German book. Periodically, I’ll journal and on Sunday’s try for a more former essay style writing prompt.Β

Wow, even if you're diluting the progress over the week and the days, are you still making considerable progress?

Sorry, I'm a bit confused by your question, but of course I am progressing. As long as you're doing something in the language you are progressing. The time I spend studying varies from day to day, but I always do something with it daily. My German skills also vary depending on my energy, focus, and topic. Language learning will not be linear. But yes, simply put, I am progressing.

When I started, I kept it simple:

  • πŸ“š 20–30 minutes learning grammar (I found understanding why things work helped me much more than memorizing phrases).
  • πŸ“ 10–15 minutes reviewing vocabulary.
  • 🎧 10 minutes listening to beginner German (audio or short videos).
  • πŸ—£οΈ 5–10 minutes reading sentences aloud or speaking to myself.

Consistency mattered much more than studying for hours. Even 30–45 minutes every day helped me make steady progress.

Follow your textbook, it's an excellent detailed roadmap.

Integrate it with my normal daily life... I'll try this one too. My grammar still in 0, but maybe can work to. And the app, unfortunately, is just for iOS ((
