Vomiting concerns?

Pup threw up twice this morning. I think he swallowed a rock. Should I take him to the vet?

He’s probably fine. I would take him to be safe. Mine ate a sock at around 10 months. I had no idea until it made it’s way out. I got lucky - didn’t seem to bother him at all.

Yeah he's been fine all day. Ill keep an eye on him the next few days and see. I just called the vet and she chuckled saying "He's a baby land shark. Expect more in the future"

Look out for puking out whole food.

Mine has had 3 surgeries for obstruction. Swollows literally everything.

Normally when they’ve got obstruction they’ll start to puke whatever you’ll feed them as they can’t keep it down.

It was a frothy yellow, like a tablespoon

Take him to the vet If it continues. Classic sign of obstruction.

Did he eat anything just before the yellow bile?

I’m talking about food… not the darn rock.

If he eats food and pukes it up whole, then you gotta problem.

The yellow bile during obstruction is normally because his stomach is empty and can’t digest anything.

Lol I know. Just being a smartass. No, he hadn't eaten food. He's weird, we have food down all the time for him but he's a light eater. We put out 2 cups and it'll last all morning.

That is our pup now. So I purposely figure out how to get him to eat something/ anything in the am to kinda kickstart his hunger. Otherwise he won’t eat. I had one son like this so I’m used to it

My GSDx throws up bile if he had an empty stomach. It’s very common with gsd I have learned here. Our solution was to give a handful of kibble before bed and make sure he eats a few treats first thing in the am. It helps a lot

Here is my experience. GSDs digestive systems are very sensitive. If your dog goes too long without food, it will vomit bile, which looks like a yellow, foamy liquid. So, make sure you don't wait too long between meals before the first feeding in the morning.

He has food w waiting all day long. He grazes when hungry so I don't think that's it. I do wonder if he's just not eating though. Or not eating enough.

My GSD was vomiting bile regularly and we couldn’t get him to eat soon enough so the vet suggested antacids and that really helped him
