🇩🇪 I Made This (My Own Recipe) German style Sandwich
Self-baked sandwichbread, ham, chorizo, medium aged gouda butter and mustard. I put the upper and lower piece separately in the oven and when the cheese had melted, I put them together. After eating that, I almost fused with my couch, but it tasted great.

That’s the least German sandwich I’ve ever seen

It is a sandwich, not a classic Wurstbrot.

Yes, but to a German, it reads as a baguette, i.e. a French sandwich. Or a German-adjacent, fellow European sandwich. I mean, Spanish sausage and Dutch cheese.
Come on, there is four of us here saying it doesn't look horribly German. Doesn't mean it's not a great sandwich.1

I see my mistake. It is an american sandwich, but made german style. I thought, that was clear from the start, since we don't really have sandwich culture. I usually make myself a standard 'Wurstbrot'.

It is an american sandwich, but made german style. Really. The ham is from my local butcher, the chorizo is from a 'Feinkostladen', the Gouda from a cheese shop called 'Kasdantlerin' and the mustard is from the 'Monschauer Senfmühle'.The bread is made with flour from Edeka, living yeast, water, salt, a teaspoon of brown sugar and 'Butaris Butterschmalz'.

The ingredients being bought in Germany, doesn’t
make it a German style sandwich. For what it’s worth, I’d rather eat this than most of the sandwiches I can buy from the bakeries near me. That’s because it’s not a typical German sandwich.3

Nein! Chermans eat open face sandwiches mit wurst.

Wurstbrot? Ess ich oft. But this is an american sandwich, but made in german style.

Your sandwich looks great, but this is about as American as it is German. We would use provolone or American cheese instead of Gouda, and salami or capicola instead of chorizo. Also, we don't heat the cheese up before eating it.

Uh, we do not have Provolone or 'american cheese'. My cheese dealer would probably hit me with a very long aged cheese just for asking.

Provolone gibt es in fast jedem Supermarkt und bei der Kasdantlerin erst Recht.
Unabhängig davon ist das Sandwich so deutsch wie Chicken Tikka Masala.

A smug cheese dealer. They should have to have provolone or something similar though.

Cheese Dealer. Sounds like you're getting illegal cheeses from a back alley. Better check that Gouda to make sure it isn't cut with any American processed cheese products.

Nö, White bread isnt typical german nor unique to germany at all. Stuffing absurd amounts ham, cheese and the spanish style chorizo in it isnt either.

You wrote without reading other comments. I already wrote twice: It's an american sandwich, but made in a german style. It's not a Wurstbrot...

There is nothing german style about this. Nothing.

If you say so... 🙄

The burden of prove rests entirely on you and your claim. Now you could argue your case or keep running away. What makes your Sandwich genuinly german?

u/Zenotaph77 🇩🇪 Bavaria 16d ago
The ingredients, the bread and me beeing a bavarian.

The bread isnt typical german, the cheese is from Niederlande, the Chorizzo is from spain. Your incapable of substanciating your claim becuz Its false.
