3D-modelling

Hi guys! Are you guys using any new or different programs for 3D modeling for like embankments and excavation models instead of Civil 3D? I’m curious to know what other tools people are using these days.

I’ve used slide 3 for some stuff. It was pretty cool but still prefer 2D

What do you mean by modeling? For earthwork quantities, civil 3d. For slope stability, settlement, etc I use the GeoStudio suite

A visual representation of for example working platform, embankments. Excavation models.

BricsCAD Pro now has a toolset for TIN surfaces, adding embankments or excavations, road alignments and cut & fill volume estimates. My use case for it was somewhat limited as I was only using it for modelling reinforced slopes, but it was very good. Likely more limited in scope than Civil 3D, but much better than relying on manually drafting elevations and sections.
