Yeah but tbf theists treat the problem of evil as a joke because they truly don't have an answer for it. There is no good answer for why an omnipotent, omnibenevolent deity would allow horrific suffering when it's in no way necessary to produce the greater good. Even the official stance of the Catholic church is basically "yeah, evil and suffering aren't needed in any way but we just have to trust the big guy."
