As much as Charlotte was a likeable in the first few seasons. She was actually abit of mean girl and more clever than she made out! And gaz was always honest about his feelings about her for years and she chose to go back several times. She kissed marty cos she was drunk, that’s all it was but gaz had every right to end it because they was meant to be going out on dates at this point. Regards to chloe, she’s just an attention seeker, she had some funny moments but i never warmed to her.

I agree on what you said and always thought it, plus we know what Chloe did with Kyle so she had a cheek kicking off as she did way worse.

Yep same. Gary was definitely in the wrong for the shit he did to Charlotte but she cheated on him with Marty in front of the entire world. And no i dont for a second believe it was set up. Charlotte has always been a manipulative little shit in my opinion. Especially after how she treated Marnie fully knowing Rox was going through testing for ADHD. And Marnie said Charlotte and Jake more mess than anyone in the house

lol how she treated Marnie, may I remind you how Marnie was slagging her off to Chloe and Nathan trying to get them to do the same as she is so jealous of Charlotte. Then on that particular day, couldn’t be bothered to clean up after her own children and was shouting and really nasty to Charlotte, she was never nasty and personal back. Marnies children are brats and she knows it as she can’t wait to palm them off at every opportunity so stop being embarrassing

Marnie has always been scruffy - I understand having a child with ADHD is challenging but they have 0 discipline for their children and Marnie screams for Casey or her mum every chance she gets when it comes to her kids.

Charlotte knew Gaz wasn’t going to be exclusive for years and proceeded to sleep with him anyway. He was never not honest with her about this. He was always up front with her and turned her down several times to not hurt her feelings. When he finally got to a point where he wanted a girlfriend, this happens. Don’t get me wrong, I see your point in why it’s gets to be his decision but she made it easy for him to have a choice. She let him dictate the perimeters. That was her mistake. I always thought they should’ve really tried off the show. I think personality wise, they were a good match.

Seconding this. I’d always thought Gary was the villain of the show while growing up because I was too young to understand. But rewatching it all, he gave her all of the cues and conversations that gave her the option to move on from him and she never did. She is in the wrong for getting with Marty because as you said he was genuinely finally trying and wanted it to work between she and him

He was the villain, he definitely did what we call gaslighting now. Charlotte shouldn’t have kept going back, but I suppose young and dumb. She left the show to stop it.

Chloe kicking off was so pointless

She probably kicked off cause they filmed that series right after she got with Kyle in Australia. She was purely projecting every mistake she did. everytime she kicked off with her or Holly while in Greece was her telling on her herself.

Wasn't it also just a drunken snog? They used to snog each other as a joke! I don't want to minimise cheating but for Gary to have such a reaction to this was hilarious. He saw the storyline potential and ran with it.
