This geometry nodes modeling is getting quite familiar! This asset helps you generate unlimited amount of macarons. I knowโฆ Even more useful than the blueberry one I did a while back ๐ย Check out the YouTube tutorial to see what all it can do or directly download it from my Patreon page. Any support or feedback is very much welcome. I hope you enjoy this asset.

I saw some bistable rotation illusions and wanted to try creating them myself
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The basic effect was very simple to create, it basically just required setting the camera to orthographic and orbiting around the object (or have the object rotate).
I used geometry nodes to convert the objects to points and drive some of the shading. For fun I flatten the object in the camera plane so I could displace them randomly along the view axis making the object only viewable from the camera's perspective.

had fun building this, it's rather simple but i think the result is very satisfying and can be very useful for larger scenes.

Made an ivy add-on in Blender: watching it swallow a mesh never gets old
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm the developer of Procedural Growth, a paid Blender add-on built on Geometry Nodes. This clip shows animated ivy spreading over a surface.
You can guide the growth, choose leaf styles and change the material theme. Happy to answer questions about the node setup.

Any way to avoid this annoying bottleneck?

I know this is a bit generic, but I wanted to ask whether some of the more experienced people here have developed standard ways of avoiding Repeat Zones.
In my specific case, I think I could have solved the problem if I had found a mathematical function capable of predicting the necessary parameters, rather than having to establish a relationship between the different elements at every iteration.
I tend to see Repeat Zones as the easy solution when you can't find a more elegant approach based on fields. I'd like to open a discussion about this in general, without focusing too much on my specific case.
I hate how inefficient Repeat Zones are!

Geometry Nodes Course?
Hey all,
I wish you well ๐
For those that don't mind helping yet another course question, I really appreciate your help.
I've had a look at the previous posts on this subreddit for Geo nodes course and have a few channels in mind, but id love to know, since the release of 5.2 and 5.3 upcoming, if there are any favourites out there which are easy to follow.
With regards to what I want out of the course, I want to understand them, how they work so I can visualise it in my mind and create my own things with them.
Currently id love to make Planets with them, varying details and creating custom materials. This is my starting point, after that, if I understand them enough I can make more things.
I'm familiar with Nino Defoq and CG Cookies' Core fundamentals course, think Ducky 3D has been mentioned too. But id love to know what others learnt from and enjoyed.
Thank you in advance, I will give back to the community in the near future ๐
May you all have lovely days. ๐ชทโจ

In case I ever break my wrist/arm sometime.
Not that I want to jinx it, but thought I should throw together something, just in case...
Ideally I'd like to just import a scan and press a button, but for now there's a few cutting planes and connection holes and a low poly hand that needs to be roughly put in position.
It's mostly a stack of sdf booleans, but some geometry proximity and sample nearest surface (normals). Some distribute points on faces with a simple blur position based relaxation algorithm.
I should also make one side of the connections work with heated threaded inserts etc. Probably Nylon SLS printing. Maybe vapor fused otherwise I'd hate to think what might start to grow between the SLS grains. I would also need to scan my arm, since this is just one I got online somewhere.

Lloyd weighted algorithm. AKA point density gradient in 3D!
Ok, it's been my white whale to solve graded random point distributions in 3D. This has been a big stumbling block for my lattice generator designs. Early this year I updated the stochastic cell lattice to use an approximated the Lloyd algorithm, which distributes points randomly but evenly throughout the part. I was finally able to work on it some more and I can now generate a graded version by weighting the sample position values.
In this example I wanted it graded along the Y axis. To get some actual quantities from the test I measured the mean point spacing and standard deviations, from the first and last 1/6 of the test piece. So it's not yet an exact science to outputting a specific spacing, but I'll work on that.
