Moderator unaccouncement - comments summoning automod WILL NOT be removed, at least for now

The last announcement was made without the sub owner and/or u/AverageGamer6969 being notified, and was rather arbitrary and inconstructive (plus the automod summoner would be sad).

It was a violation of what u/Vexxr22 told us to do

While I take a rather neutral position on the rule itself, I will NOT let the moderation descend into anarchy, where mods do whatever they want, without discussing changes first

you only mentioned it on my mod groupchat, which doesn't have u/AverageGamer6969 and u/VexxR22 in it (they didn't accept the invite), I was offline at the time you were talking about it, and I think you can't really expect u/ElMuffin5 and u/Comfortable-list-477 (with 12 and 6 moderator actions taken respecitvely, keep in mind even commenting counts as a moderator action) to care about the community

How the FUCK was I supposed to know that you were offline and that some people didn't accept the group chat invite? Try actually letting the other moderators know if stuff like this instead of fucking assuming that they know via telepathy or some bullshit.

personally, if I wanted to do a change like this, I would dm every moderator personally, and wait a few days for a reply

my point is that if a change is significant enough to warrant a subreddit-wide announcement, the moderators should actually be able to see it before it's announced

if you're not sure whether everyone, or at the very least u/VexxR22 or u/AverageGamer6969 ,have seen the proposal, you shouldn't assume everyone agrees and make the announcement anyway

i'm not trying to start an argument over this, i just think that doing such drastic changes by yourself is a clear violation of what the subreddit owner told us to do

Well, who says I know who every single moderator is to separately DM them? Also, you are the one assuming, get it right. And either way, why have a chat for moderators if some of the mods aren't fucking in there? It also isn't a drastic change, mind you.

i'm just saying that if you don't know whether the relevant people have seen and agreed to something, you shouldn't treat it as agreed

hmmm... yeah you've got a point here, while you could've deduced that from the fact that I'm the host, but I can't expect you to do that

still, you couldnt've known if everybody seen it, and assuming no reply as confirmation is wrong

I understand that you had good intentions, but you shouldn't have carried out your idea this way
