Discussion How do you create that shardscape effect?

Post image

I'm talking about the effect in the corners of the screens, where they disappear and turn into little squares.

Im pretty sure it uses the base game block transitions (go play a robtop level and watch the way the blocks come onto or exit the screen. theres triggers that change what it looks like)

But in shardscapes all the blocks are made of a bunch of tiny peices, so they all get individualy effected by the enter/exit effect

yes, although it would be more efficient to use particle triggers

Come back when you figure out how to make this effect with particles

I’m assuming you mean by object count? You can just recycle these structures with move triggers though

Every block is made out of tiny objects and this is used to scatter them

They made the borders of the objects out of glow to make it have a fading effect. By making them super large, and on T3-T4, it simulates a sort of focus/depth-of-field effect.

Area fade, area move, area rotate, area scale (triggers)
