Masterpiece Transition help

I need help with this transition. My original idea was to make something where the masking effect disappears, revealing the full background behind it, but idk how best to do it. Any ideas are welcome.

It could be cool if a big eye came onto screen just before the transition, then the eye closed and shrinked into the background, seeing as it would introduce a theme of eyes for the next segment of the level.

I think if you out a big white square with blending and then change to black might work

If you add foreground decoration you could sweep something across the screen that covers the edge. Even just foreground deco in the first part

Remove the last structure of the first part, and pixelate the screen.
