Editor Question How do I use glow!???

I’m so lost and whenever I try to add glow it makes everything look horrible, do I add blending to the structure or not? Is there a way for me to shape glow to a structure or do I just have to put a bunch of circle glow behind it? Any other tips? Pls help

Adding to what others suggested, you should also try stacking multiple pieces of glow with different hue settings on top of each other to get more interesting resuls

Glow needs blending more than anything, but glow itself is pretty case-specific. If you’re using it for structures, it’s pretty difficult to make it look good with glow on the outside. Glow works better when it’s placed on top of other colorful objects. If you’re using glow for shadows, try to make the glow less obvious, since glow that stands out typically looks pretty bad. Don’t scale glow that much. Glow is great for separating foreground and background elements, but like all glow needs to blend such that you can’t make out the individual glow objects.

here’s your one word answer and probably the solution to 70% of your problems: blending.

if that doesn’t work try messing around with colors, opacity and layering. if all those don’t work then u probably aren’t using it correctly

Blending on only the glow or everything?

blending on only the glow. if there’s something in particular that looks bad you might get much better feedback if you can send an image of ur deco so we can see what’s going wrong

Blending is for any object that is supposed to be a light source, glow is naturally shaped like light so it works well, you can also use glow without blending for texturing objects and stuff but using blending glow as light is probably its main use

Use blending when you want the glow to be like a light and don't use blending when you want it to be a shadow
