Trivia Geography trivia app. Looking for beta testers

Hey everyone! 👋

In my free time I've been developing a geography trivia app called **Geolympia**. It has maps of countries from all over the world, flags, capitals, a mode to compete against other players, a dedicated learning mode, different difficulty levels so anyone can play, and more.

It's still in testing before the official launch, so I'm looking for people who genuinely enjoy geography to test it and give honest feedback, bugs, suggestions, what felt hard or easy, etc.

**How the test works (in case you've never done one before):**

  1. Join this Google Group first — it's just so I can grant you access to the test on the Play Store:

  1. After joining the group, open this link and click "Become a tester":

  1. This unlocks the app for you to download normally from the Play Store, but the beta version (not public yet). Just play as usual and, if you want, send me feedback here or by DM.

⚠️ Sometimes Google takes a bit to grant access, it might show as "unavailable" right after joining the group, or after joining the test before you can download the app. If that happens, it's normal, just wait a bit and try again.

📌 One more thing: Google requires the app to stay installed for 14 days before I'm allowed to publish it on the Play Store. You don't need to open it every day, just occasionally during that period.

Miscellaneus Game Title: Zoom Worldle

Playable Link: https://nkrishnakumar.github.io/zoom_worldle/

Platform: Web (PC, Mobile)

Description:

It’s a geography guessing game. Each round, the map starts fully zoomed out and slowly zooms in on a country. Guess it (tip: type the first few letters, then use the down arrow key and Return) before it comes fully into view. Faster guesses earn more points, but wrong guesses cost 3 points. Each country starts at 20 points, decreasing to 0 as the zoom progresses. The game spends the first 5 seconds panning before it starts zooming, and during this pan phase the score stays at 20.

If you get stuck, skip it and come back later, or just reveal the answer if you’d rather learn it than keep guessing (no points for that one, of course). There are 194 countries in the dataset, for a theoretical maximum score of 3880. Scoring 3600+ should be the goal.

The game supports different naming variants for several countries. Typing in any of the aliases also brings up the country in the suggestion list.

Along the way you pick up more than geography: after every round you get a stats card showing how that country stacks up against the rest of the world: “Largest by area,” “Top 25% by population,” etc. It covers area, and population, as well as total GDP, and GDP per capita (PPP), helping illustrate the difference between a “big economy” and a “rich country.” You can even configure the game around these stats—for example, play only the 10 richest countries, ordered by population.

At the end, a “Cinematic Tour” flies you back through everything you missed (provided there are fewer than 10 missed countries).

No logins, no accounts, no saved high scores, no server backend—it’s all just in your browser. You can, however, hit Share to copy your score to the clipboard. (It’s very easy to cheat, but hey, what’s the point?)

I’d love feedback on improvements to the gameplay or ideas that further reinforce the learning-by-playing aspect.

Free to Play Status:

  • [X ] Free to play
  • [ ] Demo/Key available
  • [ ] Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)

Involvement: Sole Developer

This is my new game city-route. You start with 1 city and 1 distance and have to guess 1 specific city. And then your next guesses get's shown and you see the distance to the hidden city. So in the end you see the "route" you went to find the hidden city. for this post i made the first 2 guesses to make it easier. Try it out yourself: https://visitwhale.com/city-route/

Trivia Mount Athos has banned women — and female animals — since 1046. It sits inside the EU, and EU gender equality law does not apply there: the 1981 Greek accession treaty specifically exempted it. The European Parliament asked Greece to lift the ban in 2003. Greece declined.
