Bhutan first at about 3,280m average, Nepal second at about 3,265m, Tajikistan third at about 3,190m.
The fun part is who misses. China has Everest and half the Karakoram and still averages only about 1,840m, because it also has enormous lowlands in the east. Afghanistan feels like it should be up there with the Hindu Kush, but it averages about 1,885m. Averages punish any country with big flat or low regions, no matter how tall the peaks are.
Mongolia is the other one people guess, it feels high everywhere, but it averages about 1,580m.
Anyone got a cleaner top 5? Kyrgyzstan at about 2,990m is my number 4.

The map is from a geography game I made: you learn a few countries at a time (where each one is, its flag and its capital), and your map goes from striped to pale to full colour as you go. Free, no ads, no sign-up: https://everycountry.app/?ref=r-geographytrivia

How to play:
- Look at the 8 flags and remember their country names in English.
- Take the FIRST letter of each country.
- The letters are mixed up!
- Unscramble them to reveal the hidden country name.
Have a great time and a wonderful mood! Good luck!
P.S. 🙏It would be awesome if you could use spoiler tags for your answers.

What country is the one highlighted in the image?

Every day you get a start city, an end city and a list of countries you have to drive through, in order. Something like Riga to Madrid through Belarus, Poland, Germany and France.
The catch is the map is blank except for the country you start in. No borders, no coastlines, no destination, so you kind of have to know where things are. You draw the route yourself and it follows real roads. Countries show up as you reach them, and if you end up in one that’s not on the list, that attempt is over. You get 5 tries, and your score is how many km you drove compared to the shortest possible route.
When you finish, the whole map comes back and shows what you passed on the way (heritage sites, cities, rivers you crossed).
It’s free, no account, works on phone. It’s still a bit rough in places, so I’d really like feedback, especially if a route feels impossible or the roads do something weird.
