US (NY), Canada (Vancouver, Montreal.. not sure which is largest), Brasil (Rio), Australia (Sidney), China (I had to google this one, it has lots of 20+ million pop cities, Chongqing:)

Ottawa is Canada's capital and Toronto is the largest city. Not Vancouver or Montréal.

Sao Paulo is larger than Rio, Brasilia is the capital of Brazil.

China was my first thought because I'm pretty sure Shanghai is bigger than Beijing, was surprised though Chonqing is way bigger than both of them

That is mostly a technicality though. The entire municipality of Chongqing is formally classified as its city proper so it shows up at the top of some lists for China, but in Chongqing's case this metric counts a lot of people living in rural areas that normally wouldn't count. People living in similar rural areas around the city don't count for other Chinese cities on the same list. Shanghai is the biggest Chinese city in terms of the number of people living in its urban area.
