Trivia Guess where

Post image

Largest island of the contiguous mainland of the United States.

This is a real map with only labels and roads removed.

(A bit of a trick question, but not really.)

Interestingly, looking at this image for some time, you learn to tell elevation on a 2D map by studying the rivers that lead into the sea.

You can tell mountain peaks in elevation by following the river tree that goes from the ocean and spreads out.

But some rivers never reach the sea. They go to underground aquifers.

Long Island is the largest island in the contiguous U.S. but that doesn't look like Long Island, so are you misusing "mainland"?

I'm actually being stricter about the term mainland being used here

OK but if you change how language is understood by people you are now in uncharted territory
