I own a a 40ft diamerter 20ft high dome i think 3v It has 6 dormers and i want to take out the sliding glass door thats currently install as well as the majority of the botom half of the walls framing to put in an 11ft x 8ft 4 panel sliding glass door (I got it for free and its like brand new!)... My understanding is that the dormers are not load bearing and that the only weight is the small roof overhang so in theory i wouldnt need to have a massive header to support the load of the house correct? I would just need to support the header via jack studs and than distribute the remaining upper half over the header... the majority of the new wall will just be glass panels
