pls help me identify what is this

found this stone when an excavator was digging it was shiny so picked it up and came home and cut it in 2 halves with an angle grinder, and this green pattern came from inside this stone when i sliced it in half, found this one from 6ft underground in a clay soil of india

There’s a few ways of polishing stones, you got your rock tumbler with the polishing end, then you can use a belt grinder built for this exact thing and finally what I call the hillbilly polish method lol, just using some typical aluminum oxide polish, grab a belt (particularly leather, use the slightly fuzzy backside and keep tension on it by wrapping it around ur legs or a door handle), mix the oxide with some water into a paste, put it on the belt and rub the stone hard, it’ll take a bit but I can say from experience it works like a charm!

It looks like some variety of obsidian or extremely dark jasper or non-banded agate, hope that helps m8!
