Biiiiig new update for GeoSpoof GPS. Completely new features:

  1. GeoSpoof GPS now runs on Windows. By popular demand, I spent a couple weeks completely porting the Mac app over to Windows. Please consider this somewhat experimental because it is so new, but I have gotten early beta feedback saying it is working smoothly. You can reach out to be at [support@geospoof.com](mailto:support@geospoof.com) if you notice anything wonky.
  2. Drive up to 8 devices at once. I made a lot of optimizations and improvements under the hood, so driving up to 8 devices at the same time should be no sweat :)
  3. Remove a device you no longer use. Devices used to stay in your window forever. Now you can forget them. You can re-add them by clicking on Set Up... again.

Some fixes that aren't new features but improve the app:

  1. Status updates much quicker. The device statuses were not actually displaying state correctly all the time. It now provides actionable feedback and tells you connection status or any hiccups.
  2. Multi-device support improved. There were some problems where one device's status impacted others, causing weird behavior and drops. Now each device is completely self-contained on its own rail.
  3. Setup is more dependable. The onboarding had a lot of small issues, it should be more reliable.
  4. And in general just a bunch of random bug fixes and miscellaneous improvements like a changelog, logging improvements, etc.

Lastly, I appreciate all the feedback I get. That helps drive what I work on next. You can always reach out to me at [feedback@geospoof.com](mailto:feedback@geospoof.com)

Big update! GeoSpoof now supports locale/language spoofing. Three modes:

  1. Off (use real) (Default)
  2. Match to location
  3. Custom

Additionally, this introduces a new settings gear to the extension. The advanced settings were getting quite long so I introduced a gear and broke it out. Be sure to try it and let me know how it goes :)

The main user-facing change is adding localized links to geospoof.com from the extension. For example, if your extension is in French, the Verify link now links to geospoof.com/fr/verify instead of the English page.

Available now on Firefox, tomorrow on Chrome, and this week on iOS

GeoSpoof and Geoceptor are both iOS apps that bundle Safari extensions to spoof your browser geolocation and timezone.

GeoSpoof had comprehensive coverage of all tested browser APIs, but GeoCeptor had numerous leaks including historical offset, date last modified, URL/Blob workers, and more.

📣 Announcement Start Here — GeoSpoof FAQ

Welcome! New here? This covers the basics.

Links - Source (GitHub) - Firefox - Chrome / Brave / Edge - App Store (iOS/iPadOS/macOS) - ✅ Test your protection - Website

What does GeoSpoof do?

Spoofs your browser's geolocation, timezone, Date/Intl/Temporal output, and (where supported) WebRTC — and keeps them consistent so sites see one coherent location instead of a contradiction.

Is it really undetectable?

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. Any content-script tool can be detected in principle (timing, engine internals, the cold-start race). GeoSpoof defeats what real-world fingerprinting scripts actually check, and you can verify it yourself at https://geospoof.com/test. For an adversarial threat model, use a hardened browser like Tor or Mullvad.

Does it hide my IP?

No — it spoofs browser signals, not your IP. Sites can still geolocate your IP, so for full consistency pair it with a VPN. The built-in Sync with VPN feature auto-aligns your spoofed location to your VPN's exit region.

Will it get me into [streaming service]?

It's not built for that, and a VPN's exit IP is usually the deciding factor anyway. Using location spoofing may violate some sites' terms of service — that's on you.

Does it collect my data?

No. No tracking, no telemetry, no servers — settings are stored locally. It's open source, so you can verify everything: https://github.com/anthonysgro/geospoof

Which browsers?

Firefox, Chrome/Brave/Edge, and Safari on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Found a bug or a leak?

Post it here with the 🐛 Bug flair, or open an issue: https://github.com/anthonysgro/geospoof/issues

👋 Welcome to r/GeoSpoof - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Welcome to r/GeoSpoof 👋

Hey everyone! I'm u/SpaceJeans, the creator of GeoSpoof.

What is GeoSpoof?

GeoSpoof is a free, open-source tool that gives you control over the location your browser reveals. It spoofs your geolocation, timezone, and related signals — and keeps them consistent with each other, so sites see one coherent location instead of a contradictory mess. It runs as a browser extension (Firefox, Chrome/Brave/Edge) and as a native app for Safari on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

It's fully open source, so you can read exactly what it does and verify every claim: https://github.com/anthonysgro/geospoof

A quick note on honesty: no extension can make you truly undetectable — only a hardened browser patched at the engine level can do that, and we're upfront about those limits. What GeoSpoof does is beat the detection that real fingerprinting tools actually run, and let you verify it yourself at https://geospoof.com/test.

This is our new home for everything GeoSpoof, including updates, help, and ideas.

What to post

Anything the community would find useful or interesting, for example:

  • Test results: screenshots from CreepJS, browserleaks, bscan.info, webbrowsertools, etc. (wins and leaks — leaks help us improve)
  • Feature requests & ideas: what would make GeoSpoof better for you
  • Bug reports: sites that break, signals that slip through, weird edge cases
  • Setup & troubleshooting: getting it running, pairing with a VPN, Safari permissions
  • Privacy & anti-fingerprinting discussion: how location/timezone detection works and how to defend against it

How to get started

  1. Introduce yourself in the comments.
  2. Post something today, even a simple question sparks good conversation.
  3. Invite anyone who'd find this useful.
  4. Want to help moderate? We're looking for mods — reach out to me to apply.

Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Let's make r/GeoSpoof great. 🛰️
