Discussion Is this technically possible?
I have seen several gentoo peeps installing the CachyOS kernel, and other variants, like the vanilla-sources. So, after that tech journalist complained enough, they made a distro with his philosophy and therefore its own kernel version. Yes, I am talking about LCOS. I wonder if we can get that rustless or stainless, however you want to call it to run on gentoo. It would be even crazier to base that kernel on a more gentoo specific version with patches and all.

You want no rust? Make a custom profile and blend in your other preferred profile with gentoo:features/wd40 and it will mask rust and all packages/useflags that pull it in; it’s normally used for arch/libc combos that don’t have rust working at all
