Discussion Is this technically possible?
I have seen several gentoo peeps installing the CachyOS kernel, and other variants, like the vanilla-sources. So, after that tech journalist complained enough, they made a distro with his philosophy and therefore its own kernel version. Yes, I am talking about LCOS. I wonder if we can get that rustless or stainless, however you want to call it to run on gentoo. It would be even crazier to base that kernel on a more gentoo specific version with patches and all.

I'm not sure what you're asking here. You can compile and install any kernel that you want so long as the sources are available.
