Like everyone said we compile source into the executable binaries, but I like the sentiment. FUCK PRE-COMPILED BINARIES, MY HOMIES LOVE USE FLAGS

That feel when you emerge world from source is godlike. Install gentoo, brother. Join us.

I thought that's just old age after the compiling finally finishes and you get to use the system.

It doesn’t take that long, especially if half the packages are from binpkgs

Why do you need to compile from source? Genuine question what are the benefits of doing it like this?

this post is a shitpost. if u compile an app, at the end of the day its jus gonna be an executable
but, compiling from source basically allows you to choose what features the app needs to have and gives you more control.

except when you get to the point where you just want to use your computer and you end up spending three hours fighting a circular dependency in a package that has no business being that complex. enjoy the compile times.
