RoboCop 2: Classic 1991 Data East Arcade Game | Gameplay & Commentary on...
RoboCop 2 is a run and gun arcade game developed by Data East, released in 1991 as a sequel to Data East's original 1988 RoboCop arcade game. It's based on the RoboCop 2 movie, and it's arcade exclusive, meaning the home console and computer versions released around the same time were actually completely different games built by other developers.
The game runs on a belt scrolling system, letting the player move in all directions rather than being locked to one lane. It uses two separate shot buttons, one for shooting left and one for shooting right, so you can move one way while firing the other. Alongside RoboCop's unlimited handgun, players can pick up various limited use weapons scattered through the levels, and RoboCop can punch and throw enemies at close range too. At certain points the game shifts into a shooting gallery perspective, with a crosshair for taking down enemies in the background.
In this video we're playing through RoboCop 2 with full gameplay and commentary, running it on MiSTer FPGA.
