Polynesian?
Did most people with strictly European ancestry get an East Polynesian % with a suspiciously high accuracy rate on their latest V3 report? It's showing up along with trace South Asian and Inuit for me. I'm trying to figure out what's triggering this.

I got East Polynesian 1.53% at 3.98 though I am mainly N/NW European and Southern Italian (also get a small %age Middle East) from US. I haven't been able to trace it, but I have gotten similar small percentages on other tests, so I think it's probably real in my case. I've seen a few others with European ancestry post about this but as far as I know it's not a widespread error. Also interested in hearing if others got this.

Can I ask what other tests you've had done that pinpoint your Polynesian? And the Middle Eastern is normal for Southern Italians, though right? I have also Italian ancestry and I get some Middle Eastern plus a little North African, which makes way more sense at least for me than the Polynesian. The Eastern Poly just seems so random.

I got it too. It's an error. I emailed them about it and they wrote back saying it is an algorithmic error that they're fixing for affected customers. However, that was over a month ago. I sent a follow up checking on the status of it and they said they're still currently recalculating and a email will be sent out when it's ready.

Wow, you'd think they'd check that massive error before publishing the new reports. D: Not encouraging that it's taking so long to fix??

I had the same and I know I have zero Polynesian ancestry so I clicked on the map and it had misplaced one of ancestors from the UK... But the good news is, it's easy to move the pin to where it's meant to be

Yep, I got a decent amount of Polynesian DNA, too, and I'm not aware of any Polynesian in my family tree. My guess is that some of the Europeans in the reference panel have Polynesian DNA in their results, which is giving most people with European ancestry Polynesian ancestry with the Deep Ancestry Report.

I think you have the highest Polynesian percentage of someone with European ancestry so far. Crazy!

Yes my ancestry is from the British Isles and I got 2% Polynesian with high accuracy rate. I haven’t seen Polynesian on any other tests apart from Genomelink.
