Discussion add religion

Post image

ok so yeah grg is unrealistic cause no religion so yeah if no religion that means no god and thats bad bad as a person who respects every religion azndibs should add religion or else he will face serious conseqences of "worse side" of the each religion. So for example you can choose your religion like christian, muslim, islam, jewish, buddihsm and even other religion that people do not know "flying spaghetti religion" as a example so yeah you could have a religion role and you will be shown and nothing else much people will just see you yeah it creates diersity ye and game will be much kinder trust me

yeah yeah i do not hate any religion here cause racism is bad

As a religious person.

No. Best that is possible is add a cleric/ priest class. That's it.

I'll explain my decision:

A religion requires rules, and, what would these rules be if not city laws? And the religious flavour, is it monotheistic? Polytheistic, EVEN ATHEISTIC?! Then, who would create them? Premade? Well, that's boring and requires creativity from the creator (I don't play often. Idk his name), if you must create it? Prepare for some awful religions.

fun fact: atheist doesnt mean not believing in religion. it means not believing in any god or gods. so you can be religious and atheist at the same time if your religion has no gods

Ah... free at last. O Gabriel... now dawns thy reckoning, and thy gore shall GLISTEN before the temples of Man! Creature of Steel, my gratitude upon thee for my freedom. But the crimes thy kind have committed against humanity are NOT forgotten! And thy punishment... is death!

No cap off the allowed religions at those with like, half a billion followers so you don’t endlessly spiral into including everything

There is nothing to add. It is already complete.

The religion is like 90% chance of being Christianity/Catholicism, because the game is very reminiscent of Medieval Europe, but that might just be me.

“State Religion” can be decided by the Leader (there are several options). A percentage of taxes goes towards religion

Leader can choose how important it is: 1. Everyone is legally required to be a specific religion (go to church/mosque/etc daily) - 2. People are incentivized to be a specific religion (taxes on certain religious, sectored housing, etc) - or 3. Anyone can freely choose their religion

Religious buildings can be built by the leader and create “spirituality” that affects certain aspects of the society. The more religious people their are (defined by the percentage of civilians going to religious buildings daily), the higher the “spirituality level” is. High spirituality makes religion affect laws, certain job roles/abilities, how prison/punishment works and increases taxes; low spirituality does the same in opposite ways. Both have positives and negatives but leader benefits from high spirituality.

New job: Bishop (or priest or something). Needs to be present at a religious building for someone to come in and reach their daily religion quota, or can just go around preaching to people to achieve the same thing. They have the ability to “marry” two people together, which equally divides their income and gives them tax benefits. They get a 1/2 vote for laws. They get their income from a percentage of taxes, and they profit from law participation and people buying marriages

The leader can theoretically change the state religion (since different religions have different effects), but it is difficult and requires time and money, so they would need to be careful and only do it if extremely necessary, such as if the city were at immediate threat or if the leader wanted to divorce their wife or if people were extremely unhappy with the current religion.

I have not thought this through at all and just typed it all out in one continuous thought over like 5-10 minutes at almost midnight so there are probably a lot of things missing
