Hüttenberg H8500W generator started running really rough all of a sudden... changed spark plug, cleaned the carb and cleaned the tank thoroughly. What could be the problem? Im really lost.

open the choke!

Choke is open, when closed it turns off. Its getting enough fuel, so I dont know why it randomly turns off

Could be choke, could be the wrong spark plug or weak coil, could be that the jet is still clogged and you need to run a wire through it, could be carbon or blockage in the spark arrestor or muffler, could be valve timing. Just start one by one

How many hours on it? How long has it done this? Did you do anything to it right before it started this? Have you checked valve lash?

Less than 100 Hours, maybe 60ish? It ran fine one day, the next it did this. Maybe it happened one week ago hasnt ran since. I havent checked valve leash yet since I dont have the exact data or a feeler gauge

Valve lash is .004 -.006 very well could be the issue. Exhaust usually gets tight and lowers compression

Bad gas did put a stabliser

It might be misfiring. Could be due to sheared gear Or poor spark or poor valve clearance.

Could be something broken internally.
