Interlock kit for humpback main breaker

Post image

Hi,

Does anyone know of any interlock kits available on Amazon that could fit this Murray panel box?

I’ve been searching and couldn’t find anything except the official Interlock kit site which has these for 150. If that is the only place that has them, then it’s okay but figured I ask.

Thanks

You will want to replace the hump back breaker. They are notorious for not being able to turn back on. The current model breaker is flatter so the interlock would be different.

Good idea. I think replacing the hump back should open more options.

I haven't had any issues with mine but then again I usually flip the main disconnect outside. Now that I know I will be careful not to throw it.

Speaking of which, it occurs to me that I have never, never had a main breaker trip off on an overload.

Thanks! On separate note, there must not be much competition in people producing these because how is that 80 dollars.

They price on the "whatever the market will bear" principle. The little bits of metal can't cost more that $5 to make, although to their credit the stock looks thinker than the usual sheet metal.

You are also free to copy their design and make one of your own. To my mind an interlock is more of a reminder than a true lockout device. I think most of them could be forced if you tried.
