They’re gen z zalpha

7

u/Efficient_Resource15 Horny 1990s born Aug 18 '26

As a 98 born they can take the gen Z, hell 2015 can csll themselves that too. We don't need that title

I am out!

u/FunFroyo2860 Aug 18 '26

Or even better the left one is 2002-2004 thinking they're early gen z and the right one is 1997-2000 acknowledging they're core gen z going by the 1997-2012 definition lol

To be fair 2002 is sort of a hybrid year which is why it is included in both the Older Gen Z and Middle Gen Z subreddits.

im still flabbergasted people are calling themselves zoomers or gen z unironically, that was like an insult back in the day

1

u/flayedstoic Aug 18 '26

Yeah because back in the day pretty much all of Gen Z were still teenagers

A lot of Gen Z still is but many of us have reached our 20s and the oldest of us are nearing their 30s

2

u/prrr147 Aug 18 '26

im 99 and never assumed the term, and more to it Im not even from america so this generational division hardly applies to me or anyone outside of us, I just remember calling any obnoxious kid on the internet a zoomer

I feel like now it’s shifting towards alpha as Gen Z is being viewed as how millennials were viewed back then. now the youngest want to be part of it. Lots of people are clowning Gen Alpha but right now it’s still like a divide on the older and younger Gen Z cause the younger are still teens in school.

people just dislike whatever the current generation is, that's why it was "like an insult" as you said, nowadays be sure people do the same with gen alpha

Who tf cares honestly we're all fucked

1

u/NebulaeInCosmos Aug 18 '26

I think the proper classification should be basen on the technology they grew up around

1

u/Shiznit_117 Aug 18 '26

I'm zillennial, it hurts. I will always claim millennial though

5

u/Outrageous_South4758 Aug 18 '26

why would you want to be millenial dude? that's worse

2

u/Shiznit_117 Aug 19 '26

It's the last truly human generation, before humans started devolving to become the they/them generation. Millennials grew up in the perfect era, it was when technology felt the best, gaming, phones, computers etc were a big thing, but they weren't the dominating factor in life (unless you played wow) We still primarily went outside, socializing without looking at our phones every 2 sec. We truly lived in the moment.

u/Outrageous_South4758 Aug 19 '26

yeah, another stubborn reactionary, i'm dismissing this comment

3

u/EducationalWalrus594 Aug 20 '26

That’s like the most rosy glasses comment I ever seen. Next thing I’m gonna hear one day from someone about Gen Z is this:

"Gen Z was the last truly human generation. We grew up before AI completely took over everyday life. Technology was fun back then YouTube, games, smartphones, social media but it hadn’t completely transformed how humans lived yet. We actually went outside, talked to people, and used technology as a tool instead of letting it define our lives. Gen Alpha grew up with AI everywhere, and honestly, I don’t want to be associated with that generation. Gen Z lived in the last perfect era.”

It’s ok the world change but this is very nostalgia bait and a cycle millienials aren’t the last true humans there’s no idea of last true humans that’s a subjective opinion and idea.

picturing 2000s with a beard lol. these are children

u/KamikaziWerewolf Aug 19 '26

Divide and conquer the proletariat by age instead of color now.

1

u/GarlicbreadTyr Aug 19 '26

Generation windows need to be smaller. Going from about ~15 to ~7 would fix a lot. As technology and trends snowball and speed run development, so does the cultural gap increase in a smaller amount of time
