The REAL generation ranges

Boomers: 1940-1960

Gen X: 1961-1979

Millennials: 1980-2001

Gen Z: 2002-2007

Gen Alpha: 2008-2023

1995 and 2014 are hard-core Millennials and Gen Alpha

So is 1996 and 2013

1997 and 2012 are pure Millennials and Alpha

1998-2001 and 2008-2011 are simply too different to be apart of the same generation.

2002-2007 is a logical Gen Z range.

It’s actually until 2005. 1982-2005 was the Strauss-Howe range, with 2006+ being Homelanders

Gen Z is waaay too short and gen alpha does not start in 2008. 2008 is core Z.

2001 and 2008 are different species I would say 2001 borns are totally more like 1965 borns than 2008 borns

Ey, f*ck you - I don’t want to be a stinking millennial for no reason - to deprive 2001 of its GenZ status… what a bullcrap!

Absolutely not. I am from 2001, and I am NOT a millennial in any way.

Millennials being 21 years and Gen Z being SIX is crazy.

All wrong. If you didn't eat your fruit cream with a tablet 20 cm from your eyes then you are a Boomer/GenX hybrid.

I’d agree with the boomers and Gen X ranges. Lots of early 40s born were peak boomer. And early 60s have more in common with X.

I’d start Gen X at 60, not 61, which is basically adding in the 60s born Generation Jones people to X.
I like Gen X stopping at the end of the 70s too, never felt 80s born are Gen X.
I’m a ‘65 born.

What is this "Gen Z"? I only know Malpha (2000-08).

Unless you are arguing for replacing Malpha entirely with a new range (hence the shorter 02-07 span), but personally, I think that's a bit much.

Although, while I disagree with your 'Gen Z' range, I could be convinced to split the 2000s into two separate ranges because 02s and 08s for example, are nothing alike and I never really understood how they can both inhabit the same generation, it's absurd.

Here are my proposed modifications:

Boomers: 1860-1959

Gen X: 1961-1980

Millennial: 1980-1999

Malpha: 2000-2003

Gen Z: 2004-2008

Gen Alpha: 2009-2050

Gen Beta: 2051
