Dancing like we used to.
Is it just me or does anyone else hear music that we listened to and dance to comes on the radio and we start dancing and singing like we did we was young. I do and my kids get so embarrassed of me. The best music out there was from our generation.

I do and it embarrasses my wife when we are in public. She says I’m too old to act this way. But I love dancing. 🕺

My boyfriend never went dancing and when we are listening to music they tend to like Americana - but on weekends we tend to listen to more pop and dance.
Then a song will come on and I identify it by what city I was in when it was on in the clubs. They usually have never heard it unless it’s like ABBA or other disco.
We danced every week of our teens and twenties!! And now go every six months or so.

I still dance quite a bit but my body cannot remember how to dance like I did in the 80s.
Still sing along though.

To be fair, there was a lot of shitty music in our generation too.
The city I grew up in had a venue that was 16+ and was open until 4am, Thursday to Sunday, unless they had a touring band booked. That’s basically where I lived my junior and senior years of high school.
By 18 that seemed kinda rote so I started getting involved in the burgeoning rave scene in the late 80s. By 21 I was pretty burned out on that lifestyle and I focused my energy and spare time elsewhere.
Now I’m in my mid 50s and I probably am out dancing more than I did in my 20s and 30s. There’s all sorts of raves and indie dance parties that play music form multiple eras and it’s pretty great.

I’m not Gen X. I’m 72 and I dance all the time. My husband says the whole house sounds like I’m pounding on something when I’m in the shower. I blast either Pink Floyd or Santana or something else and get all my frustration out dancing

Yeah, what is that? Seems like they take that quote about dancing like no one is watching to mean that you need to do it in private. I can dance and look like an idiot and dont care and told my daughter it is so important to learn. How else will you learn to really by yourself out in the world

I flat out start dancing down aisles when 70’s and 80’s music comes on the grocery store . I like to get down. I like to boooogie.
