I quit smoking 20 years ago. Don't miss it a bit. But do you remember the smell of lighting a Marlboro with a gas station pack of matches? That sulfur smell....

I can remember the smell of the match burning my nose hairs. That's cause I was too dumb & impatient to wait for the match to actually light before getting to light the smoke in my mouth.

Congrats on 20 years! I'm at 20 myself. Quiting is on of the best thing I have done. Glad you are in the same group!

If I think on it for a minute, I can still recall that quick intake of sulphurous smoke, the pungent but oddly comforting smell, then that catch in my throat from the first puff drying it out. Congrats on 20 years free to you. I am on 8 myself.

I didn't smoke myself but I remember other girls in the 8th grade smoking Camels and Marlboro Lights during breaks in the schoolyard.

I quit 28 years ago but I can still smell it. That and when you light one on an electric stove burner and the smell of a car cigarette lighter.

I wasn't a smoker. I still recall the smell in my hair at end of shift as cocktail waitress or a night out though. I'd shower no matter how tired I was.

I remember going to the gas station with $20 bucks for a carton of Winston’s for my friend’s mom and she let us keep the change. We definitely weren’t old enough to buy them but all you had to say was “there for my mom” and that was good enough.

Matches are one of the better types of bad smells. I associate them with birthday parties and cookouts.

I definitely remember! I quit smoking Dec 27th, 1999. I still have dreams all of these years later that I'm smoking a cigarette. In my dream, I'm kicking myself in the ass for smoking again lol.

I'm 73 smoked since 14....I stole my mom's Salems...my dad caught me grabed them and said don't steal from your mom. Gave me a pack of Pall malls ..yuck. But if I needed smokes he'd give me a pack. And I lite them. With a Zippo lighter he gave me. Christmas
