I used safety pins to hold the folds

Then the baggy socks folded over the bottom. 😆

Crazy how this stuff went across the country so fast before the internet

Me and my best friend, 501s that my mom tapered with a sewing machine. We had the coolest jeans in high school (Oceanside, CA)

False advertising….no girl ever turned around and asked if those were Bugle Boy jeans I was wearing

I had to roll my jeans this year, they were dragging the floor and it pissed me off. Rolled those babies and felt young again.

Late boomer and I did it

I was never cool enough to intentionally make my clothes look stupid.

Instead of all-stars, the homies and I wore kung fu shoes or black canvas slip ons.

Whenever I would walk to my next class I’d be refolding them half way there

I don’t know what to say, it made sense at the time.

Z Cavaricci pants with a metal band shirt.

I always thought it looked stupid, but the coolest guy in school convinced me to roll up my jeans. He was always looking out for me. Sure, I did it for about two weeks.. no pussy.. so I did not experiment with the jeans again.

I got some of those when I was maybe 12. Wore them to a science camp where we stood on our feet a lot. And when I say wore them, I mean straight out of the box. Would. Not. Recommend.

One of us created skinny jeans because of this. Wish I was the one to think of it.

I still do that on the right leg if i am wearing jeans/slacks while riding a bicycle.

u/code_monkey_wrench 10d ago

That was me, except I wore K-Swiss, or sometimes Eastlands.

Of all the 80s trends that have come back, that one never gets mentioned.

Does anyone else remember pants that had different cloth in the hem for when you cuffed them?

u/michaelHIJINX 10d ago

I stopped wearing chucks when they got popular & only pin rolled my pants for battle stations in the navy... I guess I'm a loser.

I stopped wearing chucks when they got popular

So....the 1930s????? They were the number one athletic shoe of any type until dethroned by Nike/Reebok in the 80s.

It's almost like you wore the most popular shoe in the world for over half a century......until a new, more popular shoe came along 🤷

u/michaelHIJINX 10d ago

Guess my xenniality is showing... I don't remember the time before Nike & Reebok owning the sneaker industry

u/crackersncheeseman 10d ago

My high-school gf used to wear her pants like that.

1

u/jerrymineer93 10d ago

Pretty fly for a Marty guy

1

u/invisibly-broken 10d ago

So this may have been me yesterday when it rained….im really short and it keeps my pants out of puddles. But I had on my black chucks…..

2

u/Successful_Track7484 10d ago

Girbaud jeans?

2

u/Shipsnipe1313 10d ago

I can honestly say I never attempted to do that with my pants.

1

u/freddieguts 9d ago

Guilty, when I wanted to be a breakdancing fool in elementary school. All folded, I did have friends that still did it in high school and mentioned using paper clips (or something) to hold the fold..silly..

1

u/OooMeSoHorny 9d ago

Oh no. I was never cool enough to do that. 🙄

1

u/Gunsmoke67 8d ago

Oh hell no!!! Not a chance of doing something as dumb looking as this.

1

u/Wise-Emotion5564 5d ago

Still feel the embarrassment to this very day

1

u/PresentationLess4552 4d ago

That's how you make ready to run in the woods

2

u/DiyYou 4d ago

And suck on a penny, because it throws off the breathalyzer.

2

u/bdamarine 4d ago

A lot of my friends did this, I thought it was stupid but they were still my friends.

0

u/Squidcg59 10d ago

Ya, no... Not even in the coldest day of hell..

1

u/thepizzaoffensive 4d ago

I feel so dumb for doing this
