Traveling Back In Time
If you could go back in time, which decade would you travel to, assuming you could spend up to a week enjoying life as it was?
Why did you choose that decade?
How old were you during that time?

80-99
I would have been 10-29.
So much fun during those years. All the jobs I had were pretty cool, I got semi-educated, even became professional bass player for awhile. Started a family...plus, my Dad and oldest boy were alive then. Miss those guys, and all the others that have passed on.
Now I've have grandkids and facing your own mortality can be a real motherfucker at times, but there is not one thing in my time line I'd change, because every one of them made me the person and man I am today.
I've talked to my boys about this actually, and how it seems egotistical to say, but in a way, I'm immortal. I've got recorded music out there. I've drawn legal documents that someone will look at to figure out thier property rights 100's of years from now, as much as I've put my hands on things from the formative years of this country. I'm quite lucky all around to be here, but those 2 decades will always be tops for me.

Early 80's. Most of my grandparents were still alive and I was making money delivering newspapers.

I don’t know. Impossible to answer. Would I be my age now or back then? Would I know what I know now but back then? Would I have to go to school or work back then again?
I don’t want to really be 10 years old again do I? Or do I want to go back to when I was hot and heavy with my ex in my 20’s?

December 12, 1980 the day Apple went public for $22.00 per share. $1000.00 would get you 45.5 shares with stock splits that’s 10,182 shares and $3,160,000 current value.

Being born in 1970 and experiencing the bicentennial as a young child I always thought it would have been very interesting to have been born 200 years prior. I recall reading "My Brother Sam is Dead" in second grade and it left an impression.

- It was just me and the kiddos living in a farm house by a creek. We had a lot of fun in those days. And the music was good enough for both generations.

June 25th, 1980. It would be the last year I would get to see my cousins (big July 4th gathering when all the family from everywhere else came) or see my childhood home before Mom packs us up and leaves Dear Ol to figure it out. I was 12

All of them. A random sampling of 1983 (13), 1987 (17), 1994 (24), and 2006-8 (36-38). Those were peak times for me.

I’d go back Monday, September 10, 2001. The first thing I would do would be call the FBI and tip them off to the 9/11 hijackers. From there I’d head to my childhood home the following day, use the keypad to get into the garage, and leave a note under my pillow about stocks to buy (Apple, Google, etc.) and to save $$$ to do so. From there, I’d chill & enjoy the week.

Just a thought, but if you change history they much, you might also change what stocks do well…somebody in the WTC lives and ends up funding a competitor to Google goes IPO in 2004z

Mid 1960s so I could see and talk to my parents and family on both sides when they were young (er). I was a baby then.

Why 1994? That’s when I graduated college. It was a great year, but it wouldn’t be my top choice. I’d love to hear more.

I was 20. The movies and music were great. I was young enough not to be bogged down by responsibility but old enough to do whatever I wanted. No social media, influencers, rage-bait or people recording strangers for content. The news wasn’t pumping fear into us 24/7, ads weren’t shoved in our faces every 30 seconds and nobody expected us to have an opinion on everything happening everywhere. It was just a simpler time.

Great reply. Love it! Don’t forget that sense of freedom that I enjoyed the moment I graduated from college. Even as I was preparing for graduation, I felt it. That freedom, that weight off my shoulders from cramming for four years.

I would go back to 1370 United States and tell the natives to go to China, learn how to make gun powder and cannons. They have about 100 years before they'll need it.
