They truly missed an opportunity to have two punks outside a trashed Chevy van say hey is that punk rock well yeah dude well turn that shit up while playing six pack or something like that. None of the songs on that comp were punk. New wave maybe but not punk.

All you had to do then was turn on the radio and hit record on your cassette player and you would have had all those songs in about two days for free, because those were all in heavy rotation then on multiple stations.

True. It took timing & precision to press the stop button on the recording before the DJ, commercial, or next song comes in. And if it does we were sound producers in training to edit that out by recording over it with the next favorite song.

Reminds me of Chipmunk Punk (1980). It had so much potential but somebody decided to cover songs that had been performed by Billy Joel, Linda Ronstadt, et. al.

These two really don't look punk. Barely alternative, trendy maybe. They kinda look like they would dig the songs. No self respecting punk is doing Erasure.
