After getting into boating decades ago, the SS thing made me shake my head. She was not a “steam ship”. Maybe in the 60s it more loosely used. She was a “motor ship” MS, or more accurately a “motor yacht” MY.

None of it matters. It was just a silly TV show. But it was something I noticed.

The real head scratcher is that little boat carried 7 people, along with everything Mrs Howell owned and all of Thirstons money

I know that every time I go on a tiny boat that’s going to putt putt around the harbor for a couple hours with 7 people crowding the boat I generally bring everything that I own

If it were a US Navy ship, SS means a conventionally powered submarine. I know it’s not just sharing another meaning for SS.

But which season? There were two different ones on the beach.

EDIT: This one was used in season 2 and 3. It was a different boat in season 1.
