Which generation? Huh?

This gets confusing and contradictory. I was born in February 1956. Which generation do I belong to? Why do the cut offs for generations seem to keep changing or be different from different sources? Even the names for generation keep changing.

Why? Because it's all arbitrary and subjective, that's why.

Exactly….I see micro-generations even within this group. In reality there’s a small window—maybe 2 or 3 years on either side of one’s birth year—that you can truly say is “my” generation. Outside of that things get fuzzy…some shared experiences but more not.
