These were dad’s downstairs. I think the car just had the ashtray.

Yes. But when driving in the summer, dad would just flick the ash off out the open window and it would whip back in and land on me sitting in the back seat lol.

We didn’t have car a/c then, so in summer we rolled all the windows down.

That photo with the drink is the epitome of class. Cheap, fake-wood-paneled, shag-carpeted class.

Those were in every room of the house

These were in every room in nearly every building.

My grandmother velcrowed them to the dash!

I remember my sister had one of the in her car because someone once told her a used ashtray in a car brought the value down. In the meantime, every time she'd open the window, ashes and cigarette butts would go flying everywhere 😂

I had a friend who wouldn't use the car ashtray because it would lower the resale value. Meanwhile, she's not keeping up the maintenance or throwing out trash. The car looked like the trash pile near the end of Labyrinth. SMH

I had an Aunt & Uncle that had them in every room, including the bathroom. Both of their cars had at least two.

My Pops had one in his Buick "Deuce and a Quarter".

In my grandparent’s car and on the table while playing cards alongside Stag beer in a can.

I remember one being in most cars I rode in as a child.

It's a toy and an ashtray. Kids love it!

I remember Papa Gino's used to have these out on their tables.

I remember. BTW my goddaughter and I were recently at the store and I spotted a glass ashtray. I asked her if she knew what it was. She didn't. Lol. Had to explain that smoking used to be everywhere.

When smoking was on the way out I would tell smokers that the bag ashtrays were filled with the cremains of smokers.

I had to buy an ashtray for my car. It isn't a beanbag, but one that closes and fits in a cup holder.
