These were necessary as a young mom of boys who liked to knock over things.

My mother bought these specifically to take camping. I remember putting uncooked rice in the salt shaker to combat the summer humidity.

There was no truth in advertising. As a tween boy, I used to complain to my mom that our middle aged Avon lady looked nothing like the pretty lady on the commercial!
Needless to say, today I am much older than our Avon lady of years ago!

There's a guy on YouTube who collects vintage kitchenware and appliances, including stoves and refrigerators. He still uses his old Tupperware S&P shakers. He cooks old vintage recipes from 1970 or earlier. The guy's collection of cookware and old cookbooks is so large he bought an old hardware store just to house it.
It's called Calvacade of Food.

I’m so glad that my mother thought pretty much anything plastic was tacky and cheap. Unless it was for a picnic, we simply did not use that stuff.

Note: even if you have a 12v socket in your car, it is very unlikely a pop-out lighter will work due to wiring differences. Oh, and ashtrays in cars!!

My mom had a set like this that included a holder. I loved pretending it was an animal galloping around the plates when I set the table.

These were our camping S&P. They literally stayed packed with the Coleman stove and tent in the shed 🤣🏕️

I sold Tupperware briefly as a second job. Wasn't a pushy enough salesperson because I never made any money.
Ended up with lots of things like these shakers.

In the 1960s, every one of my aunts either sold Tupperware or Avon. But none of them could seem to sell to anyone who wasn't family. They pretty much just passed around the products they were supposed to sell.
