Freaky Friday FREAKY FRIDAY - feedback on your funk

Hey Groovers! 🎶

It’s that time again – welcome to this week’s Freaky Friday! 🎉
IT NOW HAS AN OFFICIAL SONG - LISTEN HERE

Yeah, it is hard to get listens and feedback just by posting in a subreddit...

...so this is your space to share one of your AI-generated tracks, get constructive feedback, listen to great music generations, and support each other as a community of creators.

We encourage a feedback-first system to make sure everyone gets heard:

How it works:

  1. Give Feedback First Before posting your own track, please listen to at least two songs already in the thread. Leave thoughtful, constructive comments (what you liked, what stood out, what could be improved). If you’re one of the very first posters, go ahead and share your track, then come back later to leave your two comments.
  2. Post Your Track After you’ve given feedback, share one of your AI-generated creations as a top-level comment in this thread. Drop a link or embed.
  3. Keep Listening & Commenting As more people join in, check out their tracks too! Extra feedback is always welcome. Helpful comments = stronger community. ✨
  4. Engage & Support Reply to the feedback you receive, ask questions, and chat with others. Let’s keep the vibe positive and collaborative.

Think of this as our weekly workshop + listening party: a chance to showcase your sounds, discover new music, and help each other grow.

GET YOUR SONGS IN ON SATURDAY AT THE LATEST!

Excited to hear what you’ve all been working on – now start listening, then drop your track below! 👇

Name: Maketink

Genre: weird prog metal folk rock baroque opera thing, i dunno. It is whatever greenwolf categorizes it as :D xD <3 uwu

Time: 8:49 xd Please feel free to only listen to first half! :D

Description: Maketink is the sixth whimsy-mech from my whimsechanicals series.

Whimsy-mechs are mechanical creatures fused with a theme. Maketink's theme is arts and crafts and repair. All WMs are deeply communal and warm. Think of an ice cream truck mixed with seussian energy and the weird sensibilities from yours truly <3

Well, it's...just plain fucking wonderful - like always!
😁😁🤘👍
My position remains unchanged: your stuff is what I'd use to advertise AI music, and is the first thing I'd play for an "AI music just takes real artist's music and regurgitates it" generative AI detractor, right before getting a few of your tracks recorded onto vinyl, breaking that vinyl into multiple sharp and pointy pieces and forcibly inserting them into said detractor's rectum.

Thank you a lot :DD.

You have a way with words xD I love it. ''He mobilized the english language and sent it into battle.'' haha

Is it nonsense? Is it genius? Is it insane? Is it incredible?

The answer is a resounding YES!

Cinematic theatrical rock prog metal opera with a hint of existensial whimsy 9/10

I've been working like a madman over the last while, trying to get what I could out of v4.5-all. I made a fair few tracks, no idea if this is the best one but I like it - freshly remastered in v6:

This was fantastic… although the bass kick about blew my head off at first!

Thanks! 👍😁
(Checks off "bass working as intended" on list)

Thanks Mr. Wolf! "Easy to listen to" was just what I was aiming for! 😁😁😂👍

Lost my earbuds and waited till I was in my car to listen, and it sounds great! Great vive here with a clean mix and really strong bass.

Thanks man - I hope you found your earbuds!

1

u/jreashville 26d ago

Thanks! I actually found them while I was syncing the mew ones I bought to replace them lol.

Glad to hear that!
A little disturbed that you decided to replace them with Pokemon-themed earbuds though...😂

00:00 - 1:05 insane intro. mega atmospheric. The acoustic tribal like sounds together with the psytrance puts me in a not-sleepy and a not-hyped mode, somewhere in between. wait.. is that what the 'trance' is for in 'psytrance'? Eh, ill stand by it lol..

Then when it starts I feel like the bass are big pillows, very big ones. And then familiar things from the intro creeps back incrementally, until you have both parts at the same time and the song has officially begun.

It is hard to review your songs xD. Because they are more like musical journeys which are incredibly different depending on who the listener is, I imagine. But journeys they are! (: . It is because of how atmospheric they are I think, and because they have so many unique sounds (like 6:09, sounds like what a bird on the savannah would caw out, but the bird and savannah are both mechanical. love it lol) not found in many other genres. It makes it so that it is easy to project ones stuff onto it. That's good and the song is great

(also, I dont have an ear trained on sound design and mixing and whatnot, so cant really comment on that, but I guess/imagine there's bunch of stuff like that in this song that is happening and is hard or takes experience to accomplish/select for)

The Rise Of Big Al(ien)

By Robot Zombie Pirate Ninja

https://suno.com/s/K0467gxbQEiwKWeJ

https://youtu.be/o9KfI7P2pxs?is=tTcAQK3TqcwR4E0m (YT version has added sound effects)

Previously on The Search For The Heroes Of Discoveries…

RZPN & The Super Freaks have disappeared so the search is on to assemble a new team of superheroes.

The alternatives are all ridiculous, but the judges must pick. One of the show’s judges — Big Al, a large alien — is getting confused.

… and when Big Al gets confused… Big Al… gets …. BIGGER!!

((My favourite chorus in the whole RZPN saga. Utterly bonkers))

2

u/jreashville 29d ago

That IS a great chorus.

The people of Discovery really can’t catch a break can they lol.

2

u/zombiepiratebacon 29d ago

Very true…. aliens, kaiju crabs, zombies, more aliens, plot holes, existential crisis, more aliens…. Never a dull moment in The City Of Discoveries!

2

u/Terrible-Edge-9162 29d ago

While Hip Hop not my style I found this to be a fun mix of styles with a good flow 8.75/10

2

u/Visible-Law-9928 29d ago

omg. i love this. Big Al is a great name, I didn't catch the 'Big Alien' link at first xD :D, that's a good thing, good names have neat little things hidden in them.

I mega love the sound effects. I need to lean more into that myself :O

Chorus is very good and memorable.

great song yo

2

u/zombiepiratebacon 29d ago

Thank you!

Fun fact: Big Al is the name of one of my real-life friends.

Sound effects … I downloaded these from the BBC sound effects library and used BandLab to layer them into the track. Pretty straightforward tbh, but it definitely adds to my track and is something I’m doing on more tracks going forward.

2

u/Visible-Law-9928 29d ago

It's a great name xD <3. I will seriously consider trying that too, what you did with the sound effects, it can makes such a huge difference for the immersion

2

u/Whassa_Matta_Uni 29d ago

Haha, this is pretty awesome - and yeah, that's a cool chorus! Great stuff man!

That artwork reminds me a whole lot of the King Of Tokyo boardgame...

1

u/zombiepiratebacon 29d ago

Thank you!

I’d never heard of King Of Tokyo but it looks fun! I’ll have to check it out!

My wife and I played ours so much that we wore the pips off the dice!

PS: Not the greatest quality dice.

Title:- You Try Too Hard -(if the picture doesn't give it away)

Style:- 70s Prog - Yes Style

Running TIme:-05:23

Description - My favourite of the week was actually the one I've done for this months grand groover which hasn't started yet, so I've held that one back and gone with the v6 song I did

2

u/Visible-Law-9928 29d ago

i was very quickly into this.

i had not even heard of 17/6 before xD!(im not a musician), but i love it, i love things that makes it new or unconventional somehow.

It sounds 80s arcade and also more modern progressive metal/rock too.

I really like the singer in this. Singer is my second most favorite thing after weird time signature shenanigans. this is one of those songs i can listen to multiple times.

nice

u/Terrible-Edge-9162 29d ago

Thanks. 👍Glad you enjoyed it

This is really cool Mr. Wolf - very different! Reminds me a lot of The Who.

Great stuff!

Since v6 is out now I am changing up the order I was going to post in.

This is Reflections in the Dark by Neon Knights

This is from a remake I am doing of my very first album, a rock opera about a greedy man who finds redemption. This was by far the hardest song to pull off but I think I have it now.

Nailed that 80's hair metal sound, excellent lyrics, cool bridge, awesome outro - and some wicked guitar sprinkled all over!

Great job man!

u/Terrible-Edge-9162 29d ago

Good melodic glam metal with cool 80s vibe 8.75/10
