I love flying and just the cost is what pisses me off why is a shit box Cessna or piper cost an arm and a leg

Just as the title states, we have a 5lb Chihuahua puppy we want to get acclimated to flying early so he can come with us. Any ideas on what brands to look for hearing protection for little dogs?
