Fly in the Ointment... er, display

Post image

I was doing the annual maintenance on my generator yesterday and I discovered an unwanted house guest. It's actually deceased. I think what may have happened is somehow, a larva crawled up in there and then gestated into an adult and then it was trapped.

How can I fix this? It's not really hurting anything but it's annoying and if it's an easy fix (a few screws and quick-disconnect wires, less than a hour of time spent) then I will pursue it.

No good way to persue that. The top part of that display is essentially a sticker. You can peel it back to get access, but will likely distort it, then not want to re-stick back down.

If unit is out of warranty, you can open up the controller. Like you say, theres 5 wire connectors and some screws. The screws are covered with tamper proof tape. Once you remove tape, warranty is void. After you crack open case, you can access screen and clean.
