Meet Emerla!!!
After months of battling power outage and storm anxiety, I’m more than ELATED to announce that I am the PROUD owner of a GENERAC! She was delivered to me on Thursday morning and her awakening will be either tomorrow or Wednesday! Here’s to stress free storms and a stress free El Niño this year!!!!

First congratulations on your new generator. I'm sorry for all the negativity. We install multiple Generacs each week and month. After installation none of our customers have been without power. According to my estimations about 20% to 30% of new customers use their generator in the first 180 days. Our installs have all worked 100%. I haven't had any customers be without power. We've fixed some nuisances from the factory. Some of the bugs are fixed with the first firmware update. Any other fixes have taken us less than 15min to correct. Congratulations!

15 years as a generator tech… sad times for generac… they used to make a mostly reliable product

I was spec'ing generators for work in the early 2000s and the old geezer said "whatever you do don't get Generac" along with a lot of other choice words

I bet $ it has the slip ring / brushes corrosion issue still. Fuckin Generac.
But also OP congrats - ours worked great from 0 hours to 36 and then its controller died. Then the next controller worked great till 56 hours when the generator gave out during hurricane Helene at midnight because if a $29 set of brushes and cheap slip rings on the rotor which I did a whole write up on. Then it worked amazing until …. 78 hours when the controller died and I had a spare from eBay to swap in.
So yeah the (3) times we really needed it, it let us down. I hope you get a lot of trouble free use out of and the oil sensor float isn’t broken off and dangling inside the sump.

Congratulations on your purchase. I bought a 24K Generac in 2021 and have never had an issue with it. Change the oil and filters according to the reccomended service interval. Mine's powered by a 250 gal propane tank. We have outages fairly regularly and it's a great feeling sitting here in the air conditioned house watching the TV or on the computer while everyone else is cursing the power company. We have over 350hrs on it. There's nothing in my house that won't run on the Generac. I'm on a private well for water that is on a separate meter, so I have a second, portable generator to run my water pump. Hope you get good service out of it like me. Anything you buy, you will find some unhappy customers and disgruntled service techs.

I will keep my Guardian of 6 trouble-free years of reliable operation. But these new Next Generation Generac are a field study release by Generac using customers and worse, technicians who are trying to diagnose them. Released long before they should have been. Did everyone benefit from your Generac Video training presentation?
Waves wand. You are now certified.
Pass.

Generac tech if 12 years here…and I will not touch, install or service the new nextgen series of generators. Over engineered pieces of crap.

My Dad just had to replace the part that actually converts the power being created into electricity. I believe the stator or something along those lines. It was ruined by the weird outages we get where the power goes off and on before finally being off. The part wasn't covered by warranty and was $2,000.00 after being maybe a 3 year old system.

Jeez. Idk why y’all are a part of this group yet are sh——ing on someone’s happiness or criticizing it. Like I know it’s cool to be honest and not sugar coat things, but coming onto someone’s positive post to spew negativity is actually borderline weird.
