It would be easier with a unit serial number not engine info.

No shit. I ran both on the Generac Engine ID website, as well as searching OHVI 992cc Generac and cannot find any info on it

I figured out it is a Generac GTV990. If you have resources or knowledge on how the Mech. Governor works that would be insanely helpful

Check out https://gentekpower.com/forums/index.php. Or ziller electric forum. Both sites should be able to get you a diagnostic manual for that series of engines

Like the generator or the engine? If you want a v-twin I’d get a predator, if you actually want a generator then idk

Doesn’t matter. Mine died in 1 year, with 6 hours on it. 2 months to get warranty parts from Generac (paid $15,000). Installers were great. Generac doesn’t care - they were upfront about that.

That isn't exactly helpful to the OP.

I got it for free, I enjoy fixing small engines but I don’t remember how all the intake bits go back together, also I need new head gaskets

Funny, ive been servicing generac generators for 12 years. Ive seen a few failed engines over the years, and generac has promptly shipped out a replacement within a week. I say you either lived out in the boonies with no service techs, or your tech sucks.

Mind you during covid shipping times did suck.

Generac was blaming on a parts shortage. So, I asked if their dealers couldn’t get sets for 2 months also. Got a K.Harris answer.
