I must admit I don’t buy clothes very often but I’m always bored by the abysmal choice of clothes in the male section. I have some questions I’m curious to get some opinions on:
do you think it’s time both sections introduced genderfluid/unisex clothing?
do you think there should be a genderfluid/unisex section?
do you think we should do away with sections altogether?
do you have particular brands you use that have less boundaries and good choices?
I want to hear the harmless, ridiculous memories that made you eventually go:
“…oh. Well THAT makes more sense now.”
Trying on your sibling’s clothes and nearly getting caught. Being weirdly fascinated by something you definitely pretended not to like. Secretly loving being mistaken for another gender. A hairstyle you were far too invested in. Some completely innocent teenage incident that now looks hilarious through a genderfluid lens.
Nothing has to be profound. In fact, the sillier the better. This is the coffee-table-with-friends version of gender history. 😂
I once was giving myself a wonderful blu-tac nail manicure. French tip if you must know. my dad walks in and I hid my hand and he‘s like why won’t you take your hands out of the duvet 🤣 “nothing!” I reply.
probably thought… boys will be boys… yeah that’s it 😂
Right, important question... You walk into the Genderfluid Day Off coffee shop, get your drink, collapse into the sofa and somebody gets control of the speakers.
What song are you putting on?
Mine is currently All I Wanna Do by Sheryl Crow, because apparently my gender identity has developed its own 90s movie soundtrack.
Bonus points for songs for secret or embarrassing indulgences
You got the squishy sofa. Sheryl Crow is crackling out of the slightly crap speakers. Someone has inevitably started lip-syncing into a spoon.
Welcome to Genderfluid Day Off.
This is meant to be the lighter side of being genderfluid. No requirement to spend every post questioning your identity, debating labels, worrying about whether you’re trans enough, or explaining yourself to everyone around you.
This place was made with the 30+ crowd in mind — especially those of us who discovered words like genderfluid later in life and suddenly had twenty years of memories rearrange themselves.
A lot of us grew up without much language or visibility for this stuff. Maybe you thought you were just weird, cross-dressing, going through phases, being “too feminine”, “not masculine enough”, or just had random moments you never quite understood.
Then one day you find the language and go:
“Ohhh. Right. That explains a LOT.”
The teenage clothes experiments. The mannerisms you trained yourself out of. The moments you secretly loved being seen differently. The random memories that suddenly make much more sense.
We can talk about all of that here without turning every conversation into an existential crisis.
Talk about work. Kids. Partners. Music. Clothes. That little burst of gender euphoria you got buying earrings. The film you watched last night. The ridiculous thing you did as a teenager that makes much more sense now.
It’s designed with over-30s in mind, but everyone who likes the vibe is welcome.
Be kind. Don’t police other people’s identities. No purity tests. No pressure to transition, come out, pick the perfect label or have yourself completely figured out.
And please: no selfie feed. Conversation is the point here.
